WWW Natural Parenting Ring

 

This is the WWW Natural Parenting Ring. This WebRing was founded in December 1996 by Karen Henderson (maintainer of SAH-AP Mailing List and the Homebirth Mailing List) to make it easier for parents interested in gentle, natural parenting to find high quality informational sites. Commercial sites are generally not allowed in the ring, although allowances are made for useful information within commercial sites.

The content of your site must be gentle, natural parenting and living. Gentle, natural parenting is defined by the Natural Parenting Ring as parenting in ways that places children's needs as a priority and meets their needs in as natural a way as possible. We rarely accept sites that are intent on presenting a balanced view of issues such as daycare/parental care, family bed/sleep training, breastfeeding/bottlefeeding, spanking/not spanking, circumcising/not circumcising. Sites which clearly take a position of advocacy for children and natural parenting are desirable.

Natural Parenting Includes:

  • Little or no separation between parent/child in the early years
  • Breastfeeding
  • Baby wearing
  • Co-sleeping
  • Avoidance of mother substitutes
  • Extended breastfeeding
  • Child-led weaning
  • Homebirth
  • Informed decisions regarding vaccinations
  • No infant circumcision
  • Nonpunitive forms of discipline
  • Healthy living
  • Natural healing
  • Homeschooling
  • Child-led learning

The links contained on web pages accepted to the ring must also reflect a viewpoint of natural parenting.

Because of the primarily non-profit nature of this WebRing, sites that are simply and only selling products will not be added. Regardless of your topic, your site will not be accepted into this WebRing if it does not have sufficient content and value. This includes pages that are simply collections of links on the topic. Rarely will pages with mostly links be added to the ring unless they are very valuable in nature and unusual.

On occasion, the websites within the ring will be checked to ensure all the pages are keeping the standard.

Note: The Natural Parenting Ring Administrator reserves the right to refuse any submission into the ring for any reason, and to ban any site from the ring for inappropriate conduct or content change.
