South Orange County Home Schooling Group!
Membership is free, but it is limited to those who are willing to value and respect different educational philosophies, as well as diverse spiritual and/or political views and affiliations. Respect and courtesy are very important to the SOC-HS family. We require that SOC-HS remain a harmonious place for learning, sharing ideas and helping each other.
Individual needs or opinions may not dominate or negatively impact the group, and any disagreements amongst members are expected to be resolved privately and quietly, and with consideration to all. If it becomes necessary, a Team Member can be called upon to help with any conflict resolution.
While we acknowledge differences in child rearing, we do share a basic nurturing parenting technique of privately and quietly speaking to our children when they need our direction. We also acknowledge that as homeschoolers, our primary consideration at event days and field trips must be our own children. We agree to individually and privately provide our children with behavioral guidelines, while at the same time we also agree to understand and expect that all children will at times not meet this. They are growing and learning, and we accept and expect that, with love and understanding. We will try to help our children work and play positively with others, and recognize this will not always be a smooth path.
Joining
Prospective members may sign up at any event day. Every activity is optional, but if we don't see or hear from a member after 6 weeks, that person will be transferred to our inactive friends file. They are free to join our to be updated on calendar events and are welcome to return when they are able to be more active within the group. Reactivation can occur by simply contacting a Team Member.
All active members are given access to SOC-HS Intranet. This is to encourage social encounters within the group, to keep members informed of upcoming events and provide opportunities for group discussions.
Members agree to keep personal group information confidential and not use it for other purposes. Membership in South Orange County Homeschooling Group is limited to active participants who have read the above statements and our membership agreement, and accepted them.
