Canon Off-Camera Shoe Cord 2

 The Off Camera Shoe Cord 2 (OCSC2) is an assembly which consists of a "foot" (which fits in an EOS camera hot shoe) and a hot shoe which are permanently attached to a 60cm coiled cord. Any single Canon speedlite can be connected to any EOS camera with the OCSC2. All on-camera functions are retained and the speedlite can be separated from the camera by about 60 centimeters.

• The EOS 630 (600) and RT can only be used in camera manual mode and speedlite TTL or manual mode with the OCSC2. When used in other modes the OCSC2 may give unpredictable results.
• The original Off Camera Shoe Cord (no numeric designation) was designed for the T90 and is not compatible with EOS cameras. When used with a T90 and 300TL, A-TTL, FEL and 2nd curtain sync are not available. On the other hand, the OCSC2 allows full functionality between the T90 and 300TL.

The OCSC2 used for macro photography:

• move the speedlite closer to the subject for stonger illumination.
• place the speedlite at a specific angle to the subject to control shadows and reflections.

The OCSC2 used for general photography:

• move the speedlite away from the camera to reduce eye-shine (red-eye).
• keep the speedlite above the camera while shooting in vertical format.
• use the OCSC2 to enable "bounce" capability for non-tilt speedlites.
